Specialty substrate printing is unforgiving. Ink chemistry has to bond properly to metallic foil, holographic film, and glitter substrates — generic inks scratch or flake off these surfaces during normal use. Cut depth has to be calibrated for each substrate type because holographic and metallic films cut differently than standard vinyl. Print colour rendering has to account for the underlying substrate — a logo printed on holographic film looks fundamentally different from the same logo on white vinyl, and we calibrate the print to deliver the intended effect.

For first-time orders on specialty substrates, we recommend a small proof run (50–100 stickers) to confirm finish quality and confirm the substrate selection delivers the visual effect you want. The difference between "holographic film with bold colour print" and "holographic film with subtle accent print" is enormous, and the proof run lets you see the actual finished sticker before committing to a larger production volume.
